The ASW-G-02Re Gundam Marchosias Weidergeboren (commonly referred as Marchosias W.) is a Mobile Suit debuting in Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans Gaiden: Burning Stardust. It was piloted by Uros Rockup, and later assigned to Yukime Glacier.
Armaments[]
- Large Long Sword
- The main armament of the Marchosias, this close combat weapon is created to counter the Nanolaminate Armor of mobile armors.It can be used as the Bastard Mace when combined with its heavy scabbard, which is mounted on the MS' back.
- Short Sword
- A close combat weapon that is easy to use. One is stored in each binders for a total of four Short Swords, which are mainly wielded with the sub-arms. As for the Weidergeboren variant, Uros named them as "kunais" and has thrusters hidden inside, allowing the short swords to travel at high speed when thrown. It can also home at enemies using the Alaya-Vijnana Force-riser.
- Shield
- A defensive armament mounted on the left forearm. It adopts a small size to minimize interference with the deployment of the sub-arms.
- Knuckle Guard/Claw
- The armor on the back of the forearms can be used as striking weapons and their designs allow them to turn around and be used like claws.
- Railgun
- A pair of railguns are located in the waist binders and they are the only firearms on the MS, but apparently not the case for the Weidergeboren variant.

- Gatling
A gatling is equipped alongside the Dainsleif Mace during the final battle against Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex.
- Dainsleif Mace
A Dainsleif Mace is equipped alongside the gatling during the final battle against Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex. As its name suggests, it has a Dainsleif bullet on the tip of the mace.
- Heavy Gatling
Uros' preferred weapon, this dual Gatling Gun has a joint attached to each other and the lower part can rotate to encounter stealth attacks. The gatlings can separate and function independently. Mainly used in the battle against Seraphi
- 110mm Short Range Rifle
- An easy to wield small rifle with a short barrel. Mainly for threatening and intercepting enemies, it is used in combination with other armaments. The Gundam Marchosias W. initially used this weapon in its first chronological appearance, and was not seen when piloted by Uros and Yukime
Special Equipment & Features[]
- Binder
- The most prominent features of the Marchosias are the four binders on the back and waist.They all function as sub-arms designed with the intention of facing mobile armors, which have non-human forms, in various combat situations.
- Alaya-Vijina Force-riser
An improved and safer variant of the original Alaya-Vijnana System installed on the MS and on Uros' headband. It can forcefully control other MS if they have the Alaya-Vijnana System equipped, causing them to battle brutally against the pilot's will. However, those with strong mind and/or desire can overcome and break the Force-riser's control, and can even cheat death or disability through it, but only applicable to those who has either did the Alaya-Vijnana Surgery more than once or has Andromalius' AI Chip mounted inside their brains. Once they managed to overcome the control they can unleash the mobile suit's full potential without damaging their brain, as shown by Mikazuki Augus. The effect will disappear if Marchosias W. is destroyed.
● Ahab Wave Disruptor
Unique to the Marchosias W., the Gundam is installed with a special disruptor that causes nearby MS and other facilities to be unable to detect it through the Ahab Wave radars, making it extremely suitable for stealth. However, the draw back is that the disrupting field affects both ally and enemy units, so the former is unable to know its location and could mess up the battlefield. After the Marchosias W. is assigned to Yukime, the Ahab Wave Disruptor is modified to counter the drawback.
History[]
The terrorist group TRUE recovered a Gundam Frame named Agraes on Mars in PD. 323. However, the said Gundam was completely armorless. Using the stolen data from Gjallarhorn and the fact about the Gundam Hajiroboshi, they used the frame to create Marchosias, which was believed to be lost during the Calamity War, due to both of them miraculously having the exact same face. Initially piloted by a TRUE member to take Biscuit Griffon's corpse and act as a distraction to steal Tekkadan's first Shiden, it was later piloted by the child supersoldier Uros, who fought Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City, Gundam Pheynix and later the Gundam Furcas.
Although its wings were stripped off after being defeated the first time, TRUE was able to use spare parts to complete it once again. Marchosias was later destroyed by Mikazuki Augus in his Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex after the latter managed to free his Gundam from the control of the former's Alaya-Vijnana Force-riser, but Kirel managed to stop Mika and spared Uros by persuading him to become part of her family. Uros later engaged Andromalius using his brainwave headgear to control Marchosias remotely, to no avail (despite still surviving). The remains of the Gundam was left drifting in space.
However, after Uros' defection, Shadow's Sunrise once again recovered Marchosias and managed to make it whole again. As Uros lost his headgear he was unable to access the Alaya-Vijnana System so Marchosias was assigned to Yukime Glacier instead, who used it to free her lover Roslina from Andromalius' control.
After its first defeat, the Gundam Marchosias Weidergeboren has gave McGillis Fareed an idea to use his Gremgerde to recreate it into the Helmweige Reincar.
Notes and Trivia[]
- Marchosias is the 35th demon listed in the Ars Goetia. A marquis of Hell, he is a strong fighter and reliable to his conjurer, and often takes the form of a wolf with griffin wings, a serpent tail, and can breathe fire.
- However, since the code number is 02 instead of 35, it means that the Gundam uses Agares' frame while having Marchosias' armor.
- Agares is the 2nd demon listed in the Ars Goetia. He rules the eastern zone of Hell, and being served by 31 legions of demons. He can make runaways come back and those who stand still run, finding pleasure in teaching immoral expressions. He also has the power to destroy dignities, both temporal and supernatural. He is depicted as a pale old man riding a crocodile.
- As the data of the original Gundam Marchosias was completely lost, it is unknkwn how T.R.U.E. was able to create a complete and perfect replica of the said MS.
- The Alaya-Vijnana Force-riser could be based off the DUMMY plug from Neo Genesis Evangelion.
