The Gyro Drive is the energy generator of the Evolution Era Mobile Suits.

Operation

The Gyro Drive can produce electricity and crystal particles by using a powerful gyroscope within the drive. The gyroscope's intense gravitational spin induces molecular breakdown of the crystal's structure, releasing electrons and positively charged Crystal particles. This allows for the drive to produce both electricity and a particle supply for weapons and defences. However, due to the drive's nature it requires an internal battery or external power connection to start up.

Variants

Differences in the drive's construction and crystal types used can create differently colours discharges, which can identify certain units.

• Red - Taykahara Forces-Type Commander/Assault Units.
• Orange - Mass-Production Mobile Suits Units.
• Golden - Archangels-Type Gundam Units.
• Green - Resistance-Type Gundams Units.
• Purple - Support/Vehicles-Type Units.
• Blue - Kusanagi Models-Type and "Photon"-Type Gundams Units.

Core Components

• Particle Collector Matrix

The Gyro Drive is surrounded by a complex system of electromagnets which contain and redirect Crystal Particles to the appropriate locations within the mobile suit.

• Gyroscopic Crystal Reactor

The core component of a Gyro Drive, the reactor uses the intense force of gyroscopes to break down the crystal and harness the Crystal Particles produced for flight, weaponry and defences.

System Features

• Black Box

The black box was a hidden system within the Gyro Drives. The box sits silent until the user or mechanic chooses to re-watch the old battles.

• OverDrive System

The OverDrive System can improved mobile suit performance by accelerated the Energy Particle generation from the core

Notes & Trivia

• The Gyro Drive resembles the GN Drive from the AD universe, but the Gyro Drives produce energy from crystal breakdown and not baryonic matter decay.
• The OverDrive System is similar as the Trans-Am System.
