Afternoon people,
By now a fair amount of you will have seen the usertags on some profiles changing a little. This is because a new script has been added to the GFW called UserTags, allowing us to play around with the profile tags on User pages. The main objective of the script is to identify users of particular ability or role on the wiki:
- The Inactive tag appears on users who have not edited a page in roughly two months. It disappears as soon as an edit is made.
- The Rollback tag will highlight users who have rollback rights, admins don't show this because it's included under sysop rights.
- The Super Admin tag identifies users who have both Admin and Bureaucrat abilities.
- The Super User tag identifies users who have both Rollback and Chat Moderator rights.
- Other tags to highlight particular skillsets (Template Specialist/Helper, CSS Specialist/Helper, Java Specialist/Helper) will be given to users who demonstrate proficiency in said fields. "Specialist" identifies users who have high skills in the relevant field, "Helper" is tagged for users who have a degree of skill, but are not experts.
- Users can request custom tags for their profile, specifying text and optional colouring. They have no influence on privileges or admin-related matters and are really just for fun. (Please not that it is up to the admin's discretion whether or not the tag is allowed, so keep the content fairly sensible)
- Only Admins/Super Admins have the ability to manipulate the UserTags script, so they're the ones to ask for custom tags.
